Can I play recorded programs on other computers?

Yes, if the following items are installed, a non-Media Center computer can play back recorded files created in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

  • Windows XP with Service Pack 2 should be installed. Windows XP with Service Pack 2 includes Windows Media Player 9 and the Q810243 Update to watch television shows recorded by Media Center computers on other Microsoft Windows XP COmputers. If Windows XP with Service Pack 2 is not installed, Windows XP with Service Pack 1, Windows Media Player 9, and the Q810243 Update must be installed.
  • A DVD decoder such as PowerDVD must be installed.
