How do I erase a DVD+RW or DVD-RW disc so Media Center 2005 can burn new content to it?

If you have already recorded content on a DVD+RW or a DVD-RW and would like to erase it to burn new content, the disc may be erased within Windows Media Center. The following steps erase a disk prior to burning a recorded program.

  1. Press the Windows Media Center Start button on the Media Center remote control.

  2. Select My TV.

  3. Select Recorded TV.

  4. Select a program in the right pane.

  5. Press the MORE INFO button on the remote.

  6. Select Create CD/DVD.

  7. Select the appropriate disk format.

  8. Select Erase Disc.

  9. Select Erase.

  10. The disc is erased and ready to use. You can continue through the wizard to burn the specified content.
