Device Driver Recovery in the Gateway Recovery Center

This option allows you to reinstall drivers that came from the computer. The driver files are installed from the recovery partition on the hard drive, so no external media is required.

  1. With the computer started and running Windows Vista, place the Windows Vista Drivers and Applications Upgrade disc in the optical drive. The disc automatically starts and an AutoPlay screen appears. Click Run Grc_Vista.exe.

  2. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

  3. In the Programs window, click Device driver recovery.

  4. In the Device driver recovery window, select the appropriate category for the device, and then click Next.

  5. In the component window, select the item to install and then click Next.

  6. The selected driver is installed.

  7. In the Congratulations window, click Finish.
