Device Driver Recovery in the Gateway Recovery Center

This option allows you to reinstall drivers that came from the computer. The driver files are installed from the recovery partition on the hard drive, so no external media is required.

  1. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click All Programs, Gateway Recovery Center, and then click Gateway Recovery Center.

  2. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

  3. In the Welcome to Gateway Recovery Center window, click Hardware.

  4. In the Hardware window, click Device driver recovery.

  5. In the Device driver recovery window, select the appropriate category for the device, and then click Next.

  6. In the component window, select the item to install and then click Next.

    Note: If you are unable to locate the driver in the list, back up to the Welcome to Gateway Recovery Center window, and then try looking for the device software under Programs.

  7. The selected driver is installed.

  8. In the Congratulations window, click Finish.
