How do I erase files from a disc with Windows Vista integrated support?

Use the following steps to erase files from a CD/DVD.

Note: Erasing the CD/DVD deletes all of the files on the disc. You cannot select individual files to delete.

  1. Place the disc into the CD recorder.

  2. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click Computer.

  3. In the Computer window, select the drive letter of the optical drive, and then click Erase this disc.

    Note: If there is no data on the disc, the option to Erase this disc is not available. Additionally, if the CD/DVD you are using is not erasable, for example, a CD-R, then this feature is not available.

  4. In the Ready to erase disc dialog box, click Next.

  5. The disc is erased.
