Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Removal Through System Restore in WinRE on OS Disc
Service Pack 1 can be removed via System Restore on the OS Disc if the computer cannot boot into Windows or access the Windows Recovery Environment after installation.
Note: It is possible that the SP1 restore point may be removed due to disk space very soon after SP1 is installed. If it is not present then the use of System Restore to return to a pre-SP1 state is not possible.
- Place the Windows Vista operating system disc in the optical drive. Close any dialog boxes that open.
- Restart the computer.
Note: The computer must be configured to boot to the CD/DVD drive.
- After the Gateway® / eMachines® BIOS logo appears, when prompted, press any key to boot from CD or DVD.
