BIOS Jumpers

The graphic shows a close-up view of the silk screening on the motherboard for better identification of the jumper block function. The jumpers are shown in the default positions.

Recovery Boot Jumper

Moving the jumper to cover pins 2 and 3 forces the motherboard to boot into the BIOS recovery mode loading the BIOS code from a floppy disk. When the jumper covers pins 1 and 2, the server boots using the existing BIOS.

Password Clear Jumper

When the jumper covers pins 1 and 2, the default setting, the current BIOS passwords are maintained. With pins 2 and 3 covered, the password is cleared upon system reset.

CMOS Clear Jumper

Placing the jumper on pins 2 and 3 forces the motherboard to reset the system BIOS settings, except for the passwords, to the factory default settings each time it is restarted. Place the jumper back on pins 1 and 2 to save the current BIOS configuration.
