Q: Video driver update can address black screen issue

A: A software issue may cause the display to go black unexpectedly on N44 series notebooks with the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System and the system must be rebooted to recover the display.

Updating the following two drivers and applications can address this symptom:

  1. Video driver to version 7.15.10.1829 (or later)
  2. Gateway Power Management to version 4.01.3016 (or later)
The drivers and applications can be downloaded from driver downloads section on the web site. Please verify you download the correct drivers for your version of the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System.
