Q: Where is the serial number located on this computer?

A: You can have Gateway find your serial number for you by clicking the "Find My Serial #" link on the My Support page.

For notebooks purchased after October of 2008, the serial number will be 22 characters long on a white label on the bottom of the notebook. If the notebook was purchased prior to October of 2008, please refer to this chart for information on your serial number.

For notebooks that shipped with the Microsoft® Windows® 7 Operating System, Gateway provides an application entitled Identity Card, which can be used to display the serial number for your notebook.

To launch the Identity Card software:

1. Click on Start and then All Programs
2. Click on the Gateway folder
3. Double click on Identity Card
