Installing Windows NT 4.0 on a Solo 9550
This kit includes a CD containing Windows NT 4.0 drivers and system BIOS, APM 2.0 Power Management 2.74, Card Executive 2.74, and these printed instructions.

Installation instructions
Flashing the system BIOS
To flash the system BIOS:
-
Make a
bootable diskette.
-
Copy the
system BIOS (example:
2903.exe)
from the CD to the diskette.
-
Boot from
the diskette.
-
Run the system BIOS (example: 2903.exe) to flash the BIOS.
Turning Plug & Play off
Before installing Windows NT 4.0, verify that the Plug & Play O/S option on the Advanced menu of the BIOS Setup utility is set to NO.
Installing Windows NT 4.0 hardware drivers
To install Windows NT 4.0 and the hardware drivers:

Install
Windows NT 4.0 (not included in this kit). Do not install the Windows
NT Service Pack at this time.

Install the network (Intel) drivers as follows:

Copy the \Lan directory from the CD to c:\
|
|
When the driver installation program asks for the driver location, select c:\Lan.
|

Install
Windows NT Service Pack SP6a (not included in this kit).
-
Install
the APM 2.0 Power Management software version 2.74.
-
Install
the NVIDIA display driver.
-
Install
the Audio (ESS) driver.
-
Install
the multi-function keyboard driver.
-
Install Card Executive 2.74 to enable MiniPCI and PCMCIA cards.

This is a silent install. During installation, you will not see a progress indicator on the LCD panel. Instead, you should watch the hard drive status indicator. Once the hard drive status indicator shows there is no activity, restart the system to finalize the installation. Allow at least two minutes for Card Executive 2.74 to install.

Install the modem driver.

Card Executive 2.74 must be installed prior to installing the modem driver.
|

Install the mouse/touchpad driver.
|
Copy the \Mouse directory from the CD to c:\
|
|
Run Setup.exe from c:\Mouse.
|
|
|
The Windows NT Service Pack must be installed prior to installing the mouse/touchpad driver.
