Connecting Your Solo Notebook
to a TV or VCR

These instructions replace the instructions for connecting your notebook to a TV or VCR in Using Your Notebook.

The Composite Video (TV) Out port lets you view your notebook display on a TV screen or record to a VCR, although the TV display will not be as clear as a computer monitor. This option is typically used with large-screen TVs to give presentations and for other multimedia needs.

Important

If you have a Solo 3150, you must have the optional port replicator attached to access a Composite Video (TV) Out port.

To connect your Solo notebook to a TV or VCR:

1 Right-click the Windows desktop, then select Properties from the pop-up menu.

2 Click the Settings tab, then change the desktop/screen area to 640 × 480.
3 Click the Advanced button, then change the font size to Large Fonts.
4 Click the NeoMagic tab, then click to select the TV checkbox for External Display.
5 Click Apply, then click OK.
      Windows changes the display settings.
6 Connect one end of a video cable to the Composite Video (TV) Out port, then connect the other end to the Video In connector on the TV or VCR.
The notebook display appears on the TV.
