PowerChute Software Does Not Detect Attached UPS on 910 and 930 Servers

ISSUE: When PowerChute software attempts to detect the uninterruptable power supply (UPS), usually for the first time, it does not respond when scanning the serial ports or fails to detect the UPS, although it is attached to the serial port.

RESOLUTION: Disable the unused serial port in BIOS Setup Utility. This issue does not occur when the second serial port is disabled in the BIOS. COM port B is not physically accessible on the back panels of these servers.
