Hard Disk Drive Size Displays Incorrectly in 910 Server's BIOS Setup Utility Affected Products: Servers, Desktops Affected Operating Systems: Not OS DependentISSUE: When an IDE hard disk drive larger than 65 gigabytes (GB) is installed in a 910 server, the BIOS Setup Utility may not display the correct size. The largest hard disk drive size displayed in the BIOS Setup Utility is 65.5 GB. Hard disk drives known to exhibit this issue include Western Digital hard disk drives, part numbers 5501949 and 5502052. This issue may also occur with other hard disk drives. RESOLUTION: The size displays incorrectly only in the BIOS Setup Utility and MS-DOS mode. Hard disk drive functionality is not impacted. All Microsoft® Windows® operating systems display the hard disk drive size correctly. To see the correct hard disk size in the BIOS or MS-DOS, update the system BIOS to version 3D08 or later. |
