BIOS Setup Utility Does Not Dynamically Reflect Changes to Chassis State Affected Products: Servers, Desktops Affected Operating Systems: Not OS DependentISSUE: The chassis state in the computer's BIOS Setup Utility does not change when the chassis intrusion switch is pressed or released. This setting is found on the Advanced tab under System Health Monitoring Hardware. When the switch is pressed, the chassis state is Closed. The state does not change when the switch is released. Closing and then re-opening the monitoring menu refreshes the screen, and the chassis state is now Open. When the switch is then pressed, the chassis state does not change, even after the screen is refreshed. The computer must be restarted in order for the chassis state to change to Closed. In contrast, the fan speeds and CPU temperatures do change dynamically without the screen being refreshed. RESOLUTION: The issue will be resolved in a future BIOS revision. |
