7250R Encountering Error: 0505 Expansion ROM Not Initialized

ISSUE: During the installation of a PCI card or reassembly of the 7250R server, the user is encountering the following error during the power-on self-test (POST).

“0505 Expansion ROM not initialized”

RESOLUTION: Reseat the riser card. Check the edge contact points for residue. If it was the installation of a PCI card on the riser that caused the problem, ensure that both the PCI card and the riser card are properly seated. In some cases, using the lowest PCI slot allows the best physical stability of the riser card.
