Unable to Install Windows Server 2003 R2 or Earlier Using USB Keys or Certain USB Floppy Disk Drives Affected Products: Servers
Affected Operating Systems: Windows® Server 2003, Windows® Server 2003 R2ISSUE: When attempting to install Microsoft® Windows Server 2003® R2 or earlier on a server that does not have an internal floppy disk drive installed, you are unable to install the RAID controller drivers from a USB floppy disk drive or USB key (thumb drive). The driver loads initially from the USB device, but the installation is unable to complete because the location of the driver can no longer be found. RESOLUTION: Select a USB floppy disk drive that does not require a driver to function within the operating system. When connected, this type of USB floppy disk drive works to load the operating system.
Do not use a USB key. It will not function properly.
