Notebooks with ATI Chipsets Attached to External Monitors Do Not Correctly Handle All Resolutions Affected Products: Notebook Computers
Affected Operating Systems: Not OS DependentISSUE: The resolution on the monitor does not reflect the setting in the Display Properties tab. This can cause black bars on the top and bottom of wide screen monitors.
For example, if the resolution is set to 1280 x 768 in Display Properties, it actually displays at 1280 x 1024 with bars across the top and bottom, and there is picture distortion. The monitor shows 1280 x 1024 resolution if the on-screen display (OSD) menu resolution is checked.RESOLUTION: Update to the latest ATI driver available from the Gateway Web site.
