Windows 2003 Does Not Respond During Setup When USB Device Attached if SP1 is Not Integrated

Affected Products: Servers
Affected Operating Systems: Windows® Server 2003

ISSUE: On the Gateway 9510 or E-9510T servers, the computer might not respond when installing Windows 2003 using media that does not have Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later integrated.

RESOLUTION: Enter the server's BIOS Setup Utility, and then under the Advanced menu, select USB Configuration. Change USB 2.0 Controller Mode from HiSpeed to FullSpeed, and then save your changes and exit the BIOS Setup Utility. This allows for a successful installation.

Note: Changing this option back to HiSpeed without installing SP1 or later also causes the same symptoms. After SP1 or later is installed, the option can be changed back to HiSpeed without issue.
