Speakers May Make Multiple Loud Popping Sounds When Starting the Realtek HD Sound Solution

ISSUE: When starting the Realtek HD sound solution, the speakers may make multiple loud popping sounds. This may occur with external or internal speakers or with headphones plugged into the front audio jack. This occurs when the sound chip is initialized by the driver, and happens during startup or after coming out of Standby mode.

RESOLUTION: Download and install driver version 5.10.0.5125 or later. Version 5.10.0.5136 is available on the Gateway Web site as filename HDRealTek5136.exe.
