SBS 2003 May Appear to Stop Responding on a 9115 or 9210 Server Affected Products: Servers, Software Affected Operating Systems: Not OS DependentISSUE: When restarting a 9115 or 9210 server with Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) 2003 installed, Windows may appear to stop responding just before the login prompt should appear. The server may stop responding on random restarts or fairly consistent restarts (such as every other restart). This issue has been known to occur when SATA RAID is enabled but the hard drives are not configured in a RAID array. RESOLUTION: If RAID will not be used, enter the BIOS Setup Utility. On the Advanced menu, change ATA Configuration to Config PATA & SATA. If this does not resolve the issue, investigate other possible causes, such as software corruption or a hardware device malfunction. |
