9115/9210 Server Stops Responding When Starting to Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 When RAID is Enabled

Affected Products: Servers
Affected Operating Systems: Windows® 2000

ISSUE: The 9115 or 9210 servers stop responding when starting Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 and embedded RAID is enabled. If a RAID array is configured, a drive may fail in the array as well. This may occur the first restart, or several restarts later.

RESOLUTION: Enter the BIOS Setup Utility. On the Advanced menu, press the ENTER key on IDE Configuration. Select Enable SATA RAID and Map PATA to Legacy ATA. Change the P-ATA Channel Selection from Both to Primary.
