Static When Playing QuickTime Movies After Adjusting Volume

Affected Products: Notebooks
Affected Operating Systems: Windows® XP

ISSUE: When watching a QuickTime® movie and the volume is adjusted using the keyboard volume controls, a static sound is mixed into the sound of the QuickTime file. The QuickTime application has to be restarted to stop the static sound. This may also be heard when adjusting the brightness while watching a QuickTime movie as well.

RESOLUTION: Use the Windows volume control, or pause the movie and then adjust the volume with the keyboard.
