M305CRV Notebook with Memory Card Reader May Stop Responding Entering Standby or Hibernate

ISSUE: An M305CRV with a memory card reader installed may stop responding when entering standby or hibernate. This issue only affects M305CRV configurations with a memory card reader and is not present on configurations with a floppy drive. This issue may only occur intermittently and may occur with hibernate only or standby only.

RESOLUTION: Standby issues may be caused by various problems. If you have this specific issue, download and install the Gateway M305CRV Memory Card Reader driver version 5.0.12.610/4.0.13.317 (part number 9523586) or later from the Gateway Web site to resolve the issue.

Use these steps to verify the currently installed driver version:

  1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then double-click the System icon.

  3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

  4. In Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, double-click Texas USB Mass Storage (UISDMC30/32) Device Driver.

  5. In the USB Mass Storage (UISDMC30/32) Device Driver Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then check the driver version.
