Windows Media Player

You can use Microsoft® Windows Media Player to play and organize digital media files on your computer and on the Internet. It is like having a radio, video player, CD player, and information database all in one. You can use Windows Media Player to listen to radio stations from all over the world, play DVDs and CDs, copy CDs, look for videos that are available on the Internet, and create customized lists of all the digital media files on your computer.

Windows Media Player Supported File Types

Use the following steps to open Windows Media Player.

  • From the Windows® XP default Start menu, point to All Programs, Accessories, and then click Windows Media Player.
  • From the Windows XP classic Start menu, point to Programs, Accessories, and then click Windows Media Player.
