Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why must I install four memory modules at a time when upgrading memory in my 995 server?A: The memory board in the 995 server requires that you install memory four DIMMs at a time to support the 4:1 memory interleave supported by this server. The DIMMs must all be of the same size when installing them into the same bank, but each bank can have different sized memory. The server has 3 banks (1, 2 and 3) and should be installed in this order for the server to properly recognize and address the memory. If the memory is not of the same size/type, the server will not recognize the newly added memory and you may receive a 1-3-3-1 memory beep code when you attempt to power on the server. |
