Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the blue light (LED) on the server for?

A: On the front and the back of the server chassis are blue LEDs called the System Identifier lights that can be turned on by the ID button on the front of the chassis or remotely via server management software. When turned on, the LED helps identify the server quickly when installed in a rack cabinet containing many servers or many of the same servers. Both the front and rear LEDs turn on and off simultaneously.
