Q: What does the error message "SCSI timeout" mean?

A: A SCSI timeout occurs when a device attached to the controller does not respond within a certain time frame. If you encounter this error message, examine the configuration of the device itself, such as the jumpers, dip switches, termination, and so forth.

Note: If an SCA or hot-swappable hard drive is causing this error message, it may be caused by the backplane device.
