5.25-inch drive bays The Gateway® ALR 7200R has three available 5.25-inch drive bays, which support accessible media devices such as CD-ROM drives, tape backup drives, or floppy drives, as well as fixed-media devices such as hard drives. With adapter brackets, these bays can support 3.5-inch fixed or removable media devices. An optional three-drive RAID cage, may also be installed in these bays. Each unused device bay is covered by a metal filler plate behind which a metal RF shield is installed to reduce RFI emissions. The top RF shield is held in place by a single screw. The lower two RF shields are cut into the sheet metal of the chassis front and can be removed by pulling on the top of the shield and pushing on the bottom, in a twisting motion, until the metal separates.
