Part number
LED Indicators and Switches
The front panel of the 8300R contains two recessed switches and two LED lights. The switches on are on top, from left to right:
System Reset
This switch restarts the system without having to completely power it off and on. This is similar to pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL, but forces a complete POST sequence as if you had turned the computer off and on again.
ECC Reset
This switch will clear a correctible memory error that has been indicated by the ECC Error LED. This only clears the error alert and has no other effect on the computer or operating system.
Below the switches are a pair of LED indicators. These are, from left to right:
HDD Activity
This LED lights whenever there is read/write activity to a hard drive. By default, this only displays activity on the onboard controllers. Other controller cards can be connected to the Ext. HD Activity connector on the motherboard.
ECC Fault
This LED will light whenever a correctible memory fault occurs.
