IBM Active PCI Device (Hot Plug PCI) Driver Installation

  1. Obtain the drivers from the download area of the Gateway Web site or from the Server Companion CD (SCCD), and then save the drivers to a floppy disk.

  2. On the desktop, right-click My Computer. From the drop-down menu, select Properties. In the Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. In Device Manager, double-click the entry for Other Devices.

  3. In the Other Devices Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver.

  4. In the Upgrade Device Drive Wizard dialog box, click Next.

  5. In the next dialog box, select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended), and then click Next.

  6. In the next dialog box, select Floppy Disk Drives, and then click to clear the check marks from the other selection boxes. Place the floppy disk with the drivers into the floppy disk drive, and then click Next.

  7. The driver is located on the floppy disk. Click Next.

  8. The driver is installed. Click Finish.

  9. The Update Device Driver Wizard closes. You are returned to the Properties page for the IBM Active PCI Device. Click Close.

  10. Windows prompts whether or not to restart the computer in order for the changes to take effect. Click Yes to restart.
