Q: Where is the serial port on the back of this server?

A: The 955-series and 975-series servers use an RJ-45 serial connector integrated on the motherboard. This can be converted to a DB9 serial connector with the proper cable kit.

The 975 has an additional internal serial connector on the motherboard, which requires an internal to DB9 external connector that fits into the punch-out hole on the back of the server. The internal to external cable is included in the cable kit mentioned above.
