Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is the System Setup Utility (SSU) and how do I use it?A: The System Setup Utility (SSU) is an administrative software utility that enables viewing of the system event logs, setting of the BIOS and manageability passwords, configuration of remote management options, viewing of the sensor data records, and setting of the system boot order. Although some of these options are configurable in the servers BIOS Setup utility, additional options not available in the BIOS Setup utility are available using the SSU utility. The SSU application is accessed using the Gateway Server Companion CD (SCCD). To access the SSU, please follow the steps below.
Note: While in the SSU, you have functionality of both the keyboard and mouse for navigation through the utility.
The SSU has two major sections, Tasks and Preferences. Each section has subsections. The Tasks section has Available Tasks and Task Descriptions. The Preferences section has subsections such as Color, Mode, Language and Other. The most important section that you as an administrator will use is the Available Tasks sections. This is where you are able to configure the options stated above. Although the selections in the Available Tasks section may not be labeled clearly, select the task for a description of what the selection entails. The same holds true for all links within the SSU.
