Q: Can I disable the integrated NIC ports?

A: Complete the following procedure to disable the integrated NIC ports.

  1. In the BIOS Setup utility, select Advanced, and then select PCI Configuration.

  2. On the PCI Configuration screen, select Onboard NIC.

  3. Press the ENTER key.

  4. From the list of options, select Disabled, and then press ENTER.

  5. Press F10 to save the changes and exit.

Note: This option disables both Network ports. It is not possible to disable each port individually. The individual settings for NIC ROM 1 and NIC ROM 2 only control the Preboot Execution Environment (PXE boot) option. Disabling the ROM only disables the boot functionality of its respective port.
