Note: The installation steps below can be used to install the driver using the Update Driver wizard found in Device Manager. Alternatively, the driver can be installed from the Gateway System Companion CD (SCCD) auto run menu.

  1. Place the SCCD into the CD-ROM drive. On the desktop, right-click the My Computer icon. From the menu, select Manage.

  2. In the Computer Management window, in the left pane, select Device Manager.

  3. In the right pane, select Other Devices, and then double-click the Ethernet Controller entry.

  4. On the General tab, click Reinstall Driver.

  5. In the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box, click Next.

  6. In the Install Hardware Device Drivers dialog box, select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended), and then click Next.

  7. In the Locate Driver Files dialog box, place a check mark in the CD-ROM Drives check box, and then click Next.

  8. In the Driver Files Search Results dialog box, click Next.
