Hard Drive Activity LED

A random blinking green light indicates hard drive activity (SCSI or SATA). If the LED is lit amber and stays lit, it indicates a hard drive fault (SCSI or SATA). The LED not being lit at all indicates no hard disk drive activity.

In order for a hard disk fault indication to occur, an Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI)-based satellite management controller must send a Set Fault Indication command to the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC).
