Q: How are failures in a HostRAID Mirror indicated by the Gateway 9115 and 9210 embedded SATA controller?

A: When a failure occurs in a mirror, the Array Name shows as “Degraded” in the embedded SATA HostRAID BIOS initialization screen (while the computer is completing POST).

To investigate further:

  1. Upon startup, press the CTRL+A keys to initializing the Adaptec SATA HostRAID BIOS.

  2. In the Adaptec SATA HostRAID BIOS, select Manage Arrays, and then press the ENTER key. The available arrays are displayed.

  3. Select the array, and then press ENTER. The array properties are displayed. The drive information displays in the Array Members dialog box.
