|Note: Do not move any jumpers with the power on. Always turn off the power and unplug the power cord from the server before changing a jumper setting. Otherwise, the board could be damaged.
Configuration jumpers for the BIOS setup utility are located between the riser card and the edge of the motherboard. Tables detailing their functions are located below.
When the jumper is set to Clear CMOS mode and the server is powered-up, the contents of the CMOS are cleared.
To clear the BIOS Setup utility passwords:
- Power the server off.
- Move the Jumper to pins 2 and 3.
- Power the computer on letting it complete POST.
- Power the server off and place the jumper on pins 1 and 2 for normal operation.
Note: This does not affect any passwords in the operating system or applications.
Note: When performing a BIOS update, review the readme.txt file included with BIOS files to determine if the boot block also needs to be updated.
