A: This 48-bit logical block addressing (LBA) supplement modifies the method Microsoft® Windows® uses to access IDE disk address space. The supplement is required to access IDE disk storage exceeding 137 gigabytes in Microsoft Windows 2000.

The 48-bit LBA supplement requires service pack three or greater for Microsoft Windows 2000. The supplement can be found on Server Companion CD 4.7 or newer.
