Q: How do I remove a fan?

A: Note: Although the fans may vary in size and orientation in the chassis, the removal procedure is basically the same for all.

  1. Open the chassis.

  2. Note the location where the fan's power cable connects to the motherboard, and then disconnect it.

  3. Press and hold the green release lever.

  4. Slide the fan toward the open side of the server, and then pull it away.
