How do I figure out which device the fault LEDs are referring to on the 8400 server?
The 8400 server has a great number of components that are monitored by the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). The BMC checks what are termed as Field Replaceable Unit Sensor Data Records (FRU/SDR) to find out which devices it needs to monitor and what the tolerances are to be for each device. If it detects an error, it initiates an alert and illuminates one of the fault light-emitting diodes (LED). Depending on what actions are defined, it performs any number of tasks.
