How to open the chassis

Remove the side panels

  1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords.

  2. Loosen the thumbscrew (captive) on the back of the rear access panel and unlock the chassis lock (if applicable).

  3. Slide the rear access panel back (approximately 3/4-inch), disengaging the retaining tabs on the top and bottom edges of the panel from the slots on the chassis.

  4. Grasping the front and rear edges of the panel, pull the panel out and away from the chassis.

  5. Loosen the two captive screws securing the front access panel to the chassis.

  6. Slide the front access panel to the rear and pull outward to remove.
