9715 Server Show Part Numbers Hide Part Numbers WME873098Q: How do I remove and replace a power supply in the Gateway 9715 server?A: Note: If two power supplies are installed in the server, you do not need to turn off the server.
Remove a power supply
- If only one power supply is installed, turn off the server. Otherwise continue with step 2.
- If applicable, examine the power supply LEDs to determine which is the failed module.

- At the rear of the server, disconnect the power cord for the power supply being removed.
- Press the power supply release button.

- Tilt the handle away from the server, and then pull the power supply out.

Replace a power supply
- With the power supply handle tilted outward, slide the module into the bay.

- Press the handle into the closed to position to secure the power supply in the bay.

- Connect the power cord.
- If applicable, turn on the server.
- The power supply module is ready if the green Power Good LED (top) and green AC OK LED (bottom) are lit.

Note: If a second power supply module is added to the server, you must update the FRU/SDR after installation is complete. Refer to the User's Guide for more information.
