Q: How do I remove and replace a hot swap hard drive in the Gateway 9715 server?

A: Remove a hard drive

  1. If applicable, remove the server's front bezel.

  2. Press in the release button on the latch for the drive to be removed.

  3. Swing the latch open.

  4. Pull the hard drive carrier out of the server.

  5. Remove two screws on each side of the hard drive carrier.

  6. Remove the hard drive from the carrier.

Replace a hard drive

  1. Place the hard drive in the carrier.

  2. Secure the hard drive in the carrier with two screws on each side.

  3. Slide the hard drive carrier into the bay.

  4. Swing the release latch into the closed position.

  5. If applicable, press the bezel onto the front of the server.
