Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I figure out which device the system fault LED is referring to on the 935 server?

A: The 935 server has a great number of components that are monitored by the on-board management controller logic. The controller checks hardware sensors to find out which devices it needs to monitor and what the range tolerances are to be for each device. If it detects an error, it initiates an alert and illuminates the fault light-emitting diode (LED). The user can attempt to shut the fault LED off by depressing the fault LED reset button. If the condition persists, load SNMP and HP Manage X Event Manager. HP Manage X indicates which component on the board is failing and causing the alert.

Note: For Windows NT® 4.0, WMI must also be installed.
