Hidden Manufacturer Menu

This menu contains advanced options that should only be used by an experienced user. This menu is only available when starting the computer with backup recovery media in the drive and is not available when starting to the hard drive.

  1. Place the Gateway System Recovery disk into the optical drive.

  2. Turn off the computer using the normal Windows® shut down process.

  3. After the computer is turned off, disconnect all USB devices except the keyboard and mouse. This includes USB devices such as a printer, scanner, removable storage, or camera.

  4. Turn on the computer. When prompted to press R, press CTRL+BACKSPACE instead, to access the hidden Manufacturer Menu.

    Note: Do not press R or the computer will start to the CD System Recovery.

  5. On the Manufacturer Menu, select the appropriate action.
