Q: Does the Application Recovery Program actually go through an installation process, or does it just copy files from the recovery partition to the C: drive?

A: Applications are installed using a silent install, and are usually very quick installations. Drivers are installed by copying the driver files to the hard drive, since most new drivers have .inf files. Some older drivers install using InstallShield or an .exe file.
