Windows XP Service Pack 3 Installation Using Windows Update
The Windows® Update installation download can vary from approximately 65 to 320 megabytes (MB) (depending on what updates are already installed on the computer). To install using the Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 3 Windows Update installation, follow these steps.
Notes:
Service Pack 3 installation
- From the Windows XP default Start menu, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
- In the Windows Update window, click Custom.

- In the Read these license terms (1 of 1) dialog box, click I Accept

- Windows Update downloads SP3 and begins the installation.

- In the Windows XP Service Pack 3 dialog box, click Next.

- Setup inspects the current configuration and backs up files.

- Service Pack 3 is installed.

- In the Installation Complete dialog box, click Restart Now.

- The computer restarts.
- In the Help Protect your PC dialog box, select the appropriate option, and then click Next.
