Network Setup Wizard

To run the Network Setup Wizard, the computer must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in Windows XP. If the computer is currently connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent the completion of this wizard.

Note: The Network Setup Wizard should not be run without first consulting the Network Administrator.

After physically connecting the computers together, the Network Setup Wizard guides the user through setting up a home or small office network. After the wizard is run, the user's computer can share resources such as files, printers, and an Internet connection with all of the computers on the network.

The Network Setup Wizard allows you to:

  • Configure all computers on the network to use one Internet connection.
  • Name the computer and provide a computer description.
  • Enable the Internet Connection Firewall.
  • Enable the Network Bridge on the Microsoft® Windows&3174; XP computer if it has multiple network adapters installed.
