Q: What user names can I use during the initial setup of Windows XP?

A: The user name cannot be the same as the computer name. Also, the user name cannot be named the same as an existing built-in account, such as Administrator or Guest. There are also invalid characters that cannot be used.

If you cannot get past this screen, there is a list of what cannot be included in the user name at the bottom of the screen. Verify that the user name being entered meets the criteria listed at the bottom of the screen.
