- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
- In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
- On the Advanced tab, click the Error Reporting button.
- On the Error Reporting dialog box, place a checkmark next to the text labeled Disable error reporting.
- Leave the other radio button checked next to the text labeled But notify me when critical errors occur.
- Click OK.
- In the System Properties dialog box, click OK.
You can get rid of the Windows XP error report messages if you do not want to send another one in. Start the System Configuration Utility:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Run box, type: msconfig and press the ENTER key.
- Click the Services tab.
- On the Services tab, take the checkmark out of the box for Error Reporting Service, and then click OK.
- When prompted, restart your system.
